Sharad Sneh farewell. . . . 2004 Deja Vu

28 July 2004, is etched in my mind as a new birth of swapan to the world with out family and couple of friends in pune, Flat No. 1, Sharad Sneh Appt., left bhusari colonly Kothrud.


I Believe our Existence is called our life when we live it to the fullest and the most important moments in our life are not the one which are most planned but are the ones that are remembered the most.

Out of my nearly 10000 days of existence in this world the most remembered must be some 3000 and the most out of them are the last 2010 days in SSF1.

If some one asks me even when I am fast asleep at night about my address - in a jiffy the answer will be - Flat No. 1, Sharad Sneh Appt. Left Bhusari Colony, Kothrud, Pune even without missing the PIN Code 411038. but I might fumble while answering my name that is the kind of attachment I got with the place and People.

My travell to PUNE in 2004 was full of sorrow about not only leaving my friend and family but also apprehensions about the new world and aquaintances I will make. . . .


The last 5 years were the most gifted days & enriched period of my life when I have learned a lot of lessons of life.

Right from the basics of making the home to planning the budgeting for house and trips to getting married our friends. There were a lot of things that changed me for good, and today I am proud of the things I have gone through and getting out as better Man. I owe a lot of this to SSF1.

I would like to thanks every one of the Sharad Snehis and friends who have made this Flat a second home for me and all the friends who have been travelling to Sharad Sneh and being the perfect guests / relatives who have kept the grace of our SSF1 Family.

Dinesh Roy - It was dinesh's membership at DVD rental shop that made our initial boring days of sharad sneh into entertainment Packed shows. The long night laughing on the same movie and even lipsinc the dialogs of some ( Mujhse Shadi Karogi) was the most hillarious time I had. The time when we used to have 5 shows in a day with house full of guests for the action, comedy and adult movies were the best time pass I ever did in pune.

Joe Joseph - I would like to thank deep from my heart to Joe for bearing all my pranks, pestering and teasings with smile. He is a true gem of a person. I have not know many people o are such warm hearted.

Jiju Chacko - The witty jokes and the slapstick humour that Jiju delivers could even make hitler laugh on his deathbed. But when it comes to finances - He not only knows how to manage banking assets but does it for the SSF1 with similar sincerity and dedication with no compensation( Leave aside the perks/incentives etc.) .

Arvind Sai - KISAN - not a mockery but a real complement is what I now think this name has for a man you works relentlessly towards his goal even under worst adversities. Fighter he is. His keen interest to learn and acquire knowledge has always inspired me and the descipline exudes is awesome.

Praveen Badge - The most complacent person I have ever met and very clear about his needs and wants. We should all remember the sacrifices he made for all sharad snehi by taking bath only once in a week or sometimes once in a month. though it was not required for SSF1 but the water saved by him must have benefitted MANKIND atlarge. It was not the old fashioned Thinking for which we called him DADAJI but the Seriousness of his conduct.

Vinod Nair - I would say this man is a great time pass as you can talk to him on the most serious issues of your life to the most non sense joke and time killing gossip. His brief stay with us is always valued by by all sharad snehis.

Akhilesh Nirapure - Hema Malini of SSF1, changed the house completely. Jungli logo ko civilized banane ka pehla MUHIM isi ne start kiya. It was his meticulous and desciplined approach which has resulted in making this 2BHK flat to a HOME. This Guddu unlike most other GUDDU(Chhattisgarhi) used to play game only in LAPTOP and sometimes till late on a Internet CAFE.

Abhijit Saha - Most imprudent in finances but most prudent in Fashion, he is also one of my role model for Personal Care and also one who imbibed the habbit of keeping the house clean and tidy. I really wonder when will I learn to have a place for every thing and keep everything in its place. Abhijit really lives this TOYOTA philosophy. Even after reaching home late after a long hectic day he used to start cleaning the room and arranging the stuff and make me feel embarassed.

Gaurav Yagik -Gaurav has put the last nail in the coffin of the Unorganized SSF1 by looking after the complete housekeeping flawlessly in the absence of all others with the help of this team ( Pappu Bhaiya, Santosh, Manoj, Gultan). Tough time dont last, tough people do. It was the relentless efforts of Gaurav that has ultimately fructified into the great headstart Gaurav has got with Capgemini. I always used to think that SSF1 has not been very helpful and lucky for Gaurav and show him a lot of adversities and hard time. But today I feel it is that these adversities have helped Gaurav to Understand world and Himself Better. PAPA ab DADAJI ke level pe pahuch gaye honge.

Varun patidar - He was a blessing in disguise for us. It was a very smooth and swift transition - from a stranger to the most freaking out kid in the house. His jokes and verbal blast was always refreshing and rejuvenating. I felt that the CHINTU made us ( The aging guys from Youth to men) start making pranks like boys again. The CABRET Performance of CHINTU is the best in the entire history of SSF1.

Half sharad snehi - Abhishek Saha ( Chotu ) - I would like to thank CHOTU for bearing all the torchers and grilling sessions. There was never a intent to belittle, demean or make a mockery but and gunuine concern to share the knowledge and information but also making a point thought ironically that there is a need of Change in his approach and focus. Hope Chotu has's taken me otherwise.

I have been trying to finish this blog for last 45 days but it never seems perfect to express my feelings. . . . Will keep updating this blog and will cherish Comments from all. . . .

Papazzzzzzzzz B'day Party

How was Papazzzzzz B'day Party...

Papa B'day - 22 Sept. 08

22nd Sept. 2008 will be quite a memorable day for the Sharad Sneh inmates. . . . and more so to our Papa ( Gaurav Yagik). 21st Sept. night we all were wondering what to do to make it a special B'day for Gaurav. It had to be different, for is now a grown up man, with his rich experience of diverisified work and man management he has recently lost the tag of UNEMPLOYED ( Berozgaar). Every B'day boy of Sharad Sneh is now aware of the midnight celebration and the usual

It started with the traditional sharad sneh style of getting a cake and keeping it hidden ( even when every B'day boy knows or atleast expects). We waited till the clock strike 12:00 Midnight and then started the procession.

The normal cake cutting ceremony was followed by one of its kind celebration. Coldrink Splashing on B'day Boy and then our papa was made to do some thing which made him remember his childhood days. It was great spontaneous act which made all us enjoy.
( No discussion on this as it will embrass our Papa, no comment on this).

The night was long as we all sat and were talking till late. By the time some of the friends of Gaurav came to wish him on his B'day. As soon as they came what happened to the B'day boy they were afraid as we kept talking about celebrating one of their's b'day.

The next few dayz being the working dayz the party was kept on the next saturday, 27 Sep. 08.

The party was again very unplanned act. We all planned for Shisha of ABC farms as the venue but bcoz we reached late at the venue we could not get entry as it was about to close.
We headed to SOHO for the diner and there we Njoyed a lot.

A new trend was started by Guddu of not making a simple diner and talking the same we talk at home. It was a good game guddu started -
Every one had to talk about 3 things.
- 1 Crazy thing done in life.
- What is that he / she wanted to do in life
- A one liner for Gaurav.

The was a great event and ppl njoyed a lot. The night ended with the icecreams which were brought from our own Shreeji ( The only place you can get icecream in pune 1:30 @ night)

Changes over time

Home Away from Home as I would call it. . . . .
It started with Me. . ...... not because I am writting. . . but bcoz I was the First one to be here. . . . Sharad Sneh Appt. .
It was raining cats and dogs during the dayz I was looking out for a place in pune for me, Jiju, Joe, Dinesh.
With out broker to get a flat was not possible . . . so the broker showed me few flats the first day which were all small and dingy ( thats wat I felt about them) and the next day I landed Sharad Sneh Appt. . . . all empty and spacious . . . with the big kitchen . . . Balcony. . and two Bathrooms. . I liked it in the same instant. . . . . it was very expensive too. . . . But as my nature is . . . . I can compromise or stretch for bigger and better things. . . . but it was for 4 of us and so difficult to convince them. . . . luckily Arvind called up . . . and expressed the interest of staying with us. . . but he had not taken admission in any college. . . so I was not sure that he will come or not. . . but to make the decision easier . . I took his oword and booked the flat. . . .
Since that day. . . Sharad sneh has become an abode for all of us. . . . though our initally entertainment centre was Biren and Vinods flat. . . . bt it always felt great to be at our spacious flat. . . .
Things rapidly changed at Sharad Sneh. . . . Ideas coming from ppl and with new ppl coming. . . .
I remember the day . . . . when we did not allow our friends ( Girls ) to come into our flat. . . as it was all in mess. . . . and the follwoing dayz we worked like donkeys to clean the house and arrange every thing . . . . we invited the girls to celebrate Jiju's B'day.
Arvind's Computer was the major source of entertainment and we used to fight for the games like road rash, cards and Cricket. The movies shows at our own bedrooms used to attract ppl from far off. . . ( some my collection and some rented very often from the CD library).
We bougth TV much later to reduce our boredom ( I wasnt in favor of it but it was a good thing we did).
When Dinesh GF ( Now Wife) to pune. . . it then became a frequent activity to keep the house clean. . . in anticipation that more girls will come along with Neha. . . and it did happn. . . some of them . . .like Achla ( now my Fiance' ), Vartika and others. . . used to come often.
We even had guests like Nisha ( Rose, Jiju's GF) visiting our place for some days, parents and relatives also used to visit often. . .
Praveen ( Dada ji) also joined us by this time. . . . and he gelled along very well . . . . He used gel in his hairs and with his spikes added a big style quotient to Sharad Sneh appt.
The cleanliness drive was boosted with the arrival of Guddu . . and also it was time we all started working/ earning. . . . so we started looking to make life better and easier. . .
With our Papa ( Gaurav ) coming in to stay with us we started planning for things like cooking at home, buying Beds etc.
Its not that we had never cooked at home earlier. . . but it was a flop . . . . and I was one of the biggest spoil sport in it. . . as I could not cook anything and with my office found it very difficult to take responsibilities like - buying vegetables, and washing dishes as I could hardly help in cooking.
